So Far So… {Week Ending 30th September}

Hello Story Lovers! Welcome to my Sunday update post where I share mid-way reviews on my current reads with the hashtag #SoFarSo.

‘The Sword of Shannara’
by Terry Brooks

So far so… classic fantasy adventure

Number of Pages Read: 269/664 (41%)

Quick Notes: This is the biggest book I have read in a long time and I seem to be making slow progress. This isn’t a reflection of the story (although it did take a little while to find its feet), but more the writing style. I tend to read pulpy quick reads that I am able to speed read. This isn’t possible when you are coming across sentences like this:

This isn’t an issue as much as an observation and something to keep in mind when tackling a new read (especially if you running out of time with your goodreads challenge).

So Far So… {Week Ending 10th June}

Here is what I am currently reading, and here’s how it is going so far…

So Far So long…

Number of Reading Sessions: 10

Book Remaining: 57%

Quick Notes: I am still enjoying this read but it isn’t getting anywhere fast. This lack of resolution has caused me to start other books. I’m still plodding along with it.

So Far So fabulous

Number of Reading Sessions: 2

Book Remaining: 200 odd pages

Quick Notes: I love reading this familiar voice. The story hasn’t really got going yet but I am still loving it. Perhaps I’m being blinkered by nostalgia? Time will tell.

So Far So nostalgic.

Number of Reading Sessions: 1

Book Remaining: 50%

Quick Notes: I couldn’t resist picking this up a few weeks ago while in the comic book shop for National Comic Day. I’ve played the game this magna is based on several times and I love how closely it is tied together. This book is a nostalgic trip through stressful encounters. At least I don’t have to worry about heart pieces while reading!

My Story Notes – Week Ending 29th April

Hello Story Lovers!

It’s Sunday which means it is time for the inaugural edition of ‘My Story Notes’. This is where I share mid-way reviews on my current reads with the hashtag #SoFarSo.

Here is what I am currently reading, and here’s how it is going so far…

So Far So Agatha Christie-esque.

Number of Reading Sessions: 4

Book Remaining: 85%

Quick Notes: It is quite a dense read but as a far of Agatha Christie that doesn’t put me off. Some may find the writing style dated or convoluted. I will be finishing it soon so I can get some resolution (and to get it off my Netgalley shelf).

So Far So unsure

Number of Reading Sessions: 1

Book Remaining: 98%

Quick Notes: Lots of description, perhaps too much? Too early to know for sure.

Overall

It hasn’t been a particularly productive reading week as I am still mourning the end of ‘The Boy From Tomorrow’. I adored this story and will be sharing my review next week ready from it’s release date on 8th May.
